Happy International Women’s Day! Whether you’re a woman or a man today’s a day to pause for a moment and appreciate women in all their greatness. Being 3 girls we think it’s important to celebrate all the fantastic and diverse women of the world and all their achievements; be it social, political, educational or just brilliant at juggling many a task! Above’s a collage of just a few – let us know your heroes today..we’d love to hear from you!

Among many fantastic initiatives, One Billion Rising last month truly highlights the collective strength of women on stand and it’s certainly worth re-living the worldwide response if you have a spare moment today: http://www.onebillionrising.org/livestream

Below, is a brilliant quote from Caitlin Moran on the relevance of feminism today:

“We need to reclaim the word ‘feminism’. We need the word ‘feminism’ back real bad. When statistics come in saying that only 29% of American women would describe themselves as feminist – and only 42% of British women – I used to think, What do you think feminism IS, ladies? What part of ‘liberation for women’ is not for you? Is it freedom to vote? The right not to be owned by the man you marry? The campaign for equal pay? ‘Vogue’ by Madonna? Jeans? Did all that good shit GET ON YOUR NERVES? Or were you just DRUNK AT THE TIME OF THE SURVEY?” How to Be A Woman – Caitlin Moran

As well as a collage of beauties above, we’ve put together one to make you laugh as well as some great quotes – it is Friday after all!

“Make-up can only make you look pretty on the outside but it doesn’t help if you’re ugly on the inside. Unless you eat the make-up.” ~ Audrey Hepburn
“I don’t mind living in a man’s world as long as I can be a woman in it.” ~ Marilyn Monroe
“I like working with actresses, and I like women a lot, not for obvious reasons, but just in that that there`s so much about what they bring to the scene that keeps it so interesting. Their instincts are so different, and they never explain them to you.” ~ Ryan Gosling
